About 10 kms west of Chania, the village of Platanias has shops, minimarkets and taverns along the square and main street, and a sandy beach. Often not mentioned, though unique for its origin, is the old part of the village situated high up the hill, about 300m behind the moderns settlements. "Pano"(=high) Platanias offers tranquility and the luxury complex of Orsalia Suites. The traditional building exists since 1880. A renovation with full craftsmanship and respect for this 19th century architecture has resulted in two separate, excellent villas. The owners, with typical Cretan hospitality, have combined tradition with luxury. Private verandas on every level of the building offer magnificent views over the White Mountains, green fields and the Cretan Sea.

Villa Orsalia consists of two separate suites, each with living room with completely equipped open kitchen, two bedrooms, a bathroom and separate WC, offering hospitality for up to 5 persons. The suites have a satellite TV, telephone and fax, air conditioning, fireplace and a private swimming pool and spacious balcony or terrace.
